Underfloor Insulation Warranty
Polyester underfloor insulation is a long-term product. The warranty period depends on which product you choose.

Both are polyester underfloor insulation products. Both are designed for long-term use. The difference in warranty period reflects the different products, manufacturers and warranty terms – the difference is also reflected in the purchase price.
What the Warranty Covers
The product warranty relates to the insulation material itself.
In simple terms, the insulation should continue to perform as intended when it has been correctly installed, used for the right purpose, and left in suitable conditions.
Polyester insulation is durable, non-itchy, moisture resistant and well suited to suspended timber floors. When it is installed properly between the floor joists and kept in place, it should provide long-term thermal performance.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
This is the part worth understanding before you crawl under the house.
A warranty is not a magic forcefield. It does not cover every possible thing that can happen under a home after the insulation has been installed.
The warranty may not apply if the insulation has been:
- installed incorrectly
- used for a purpose it was not designed for
- damaged by other trades working under the floor
- pulled down, moved, compressed or disturbed
- damaged by pests or animals
- cut, torn or physically damaged after installation
- installed in an unsafe or unsuitable subfloor area
- exposed to conditions outside the product’s intended use
The most common issue we see is not product failure. It is disturbance.
A plumber, electrician, pest inspector, cable installer or other tradesperson may need to work under your floor after the insulation has been installed. Sometimes insulation gets pulled aside and not put back properly. Sometimes it is left hanging and that is not a product warranty issue. That is a reinstatement issue.
After Other Trades Work Under Your Floor
If you have underfloor insulation installed and later book a plumber, electrician, pest inspector or other trade, let them know the insulation is there.
It is also sensible to ask them to include reinstating the insulation in their quote if they need to move it to complete their work.
Underfloor insulation can usually be moved and reinstated, which is one of the reasons we like polyester. But it does need to be put back properly so it sits snugly against the underside of the floor and is securely supported between the joists.
If it is left hanging, sagging or bunched up, it will not perform as well.
Correct Installation Matters
For the warranty to be meaningful, the insulation needs to be installed correctly.
That means choosing the right width for your joist spacing, fitting the insulation neatly between the joists, keeping it snug against the underside of the floorboards, and securing it properly so it does not slump or fall away over time.
Poor installation can make even a good product perform badly.

If you ever need to make a warranty enquiry, we will need to know which product you purchased, when it was supplied, and where it was installed.
Photos of the insulation in place are also helpful, especially if the issue relates to whether the product has failed or whether it has been disturbed, damaged or incorrectly installed.
